We Need More Choices

Need a new car? Looking for that different shampoo? Hungry for a cereal that you have never tasted before? You are in luck!!! There are literally dozens of choices in those categories. In fact for almost every product or service we have multiple options as an American consumer. So why then do I have more choice in toilet paper brands than for whom I can cast my vote this November? We need a viable third political party and maybe even more than that. Many other successful democracies have multiple political parties. To be fair, we have a laundry list of political parties in the United States. What we need is a third party that can establish itself an align it's platform with the independent voters and those who have become disenfranchised with the Democrats and Republicans. A Party that can give us a viable third choice in Presidential and Congressional elections and perhaps even at the State level. Maybe this could ease the bi-partisan deadlocks that prevent progress in government. Would we just be setting ourselves up for tri-partisan politics? I am willing to take that risk.
