A Smart Move

The Federal Government did something that makes sense? Has anybody checked the temperature in hell? Perhaps it has frozen over. The House Of Representatives approved a measure that would permit many Federal employees to telecommute at least two days every two weeks. Under the Bill, Federal agencies would be required to create policies that will allow eligible Federal employees to work from home as long as telecommuting did not hamper their performance or interfere with the agency's operations. Supporters of the Bill claim that telecommuting would ease some traffic congestion and cut air pollution, especially in our Nation's Capital. I am sure that those Federal workers will also appreciate saving a little on the soaring price of gas. In the recent "Forced Into Change", I talked about some of the creative measures that Americans would be willing to accept in order to deal with gas prices. This Bill represents another small but significant step in the right direction.
