Another Torpedo For Obama

I had thought that it could not get much worse for Democratic Senator and Presidential Candidate Barack Obama after the Rev. Wright controversy cooled off. I was wrong. In "Wright Torpedo's Obama", I pondered the Rev. Wright controversy and it's implications for Obama's campaign. After all was said and done, I felt that Obama had dropped the ball on the Rev. Wright issue. To be fair, Obama had little if no wiggle room. If he said that he had been aware of Rev. Wright's sermons and feelings, then the assumption would have been that he shares those beliefs. Obama chose to say he was unaware of Rev. Wright's controversial statements over the last 20 years he attended his Church, making him appear to be a liar or inept at best. Obama's weak "I never heard him say those things" excuse, was a foolish political move. It got him past the controversy because some people who believed that foolishness, would believe anything the man said. Having the liberal media in your pocket does not hurt either. Obama's excuse that he was unaware of Rev. Wright's hate speech, was destined to backfire on him as more details have become exposed over the last few months. For example, Rev. Wright published material from his hate speeches in the Church's newsletter. In 20 years, Obama never got a copy? Now the latest unbelievable fact to come to light, is the controversial statements of Rev. Pfleger, whom Obama has also known for 20 years. Rev. Pfleger was doing a guest appearance at Obama's Church in Chicago, Trinity United Church of Christ. Pfleger said; "I really believe that she just always thought, 'This is mine! I'm Bill's wife, I'm white, and this is mine! I just gotta get up and step into the plate.' And then out of nowhere came, 'Hey, I'm Barack Obama,' and she said, 'Oh, damn! Where did you come from? I'm white! I'm entitled! There's a black man stealing my show!"(referring to Hillary Clinton). I think Obama needs to go home to his Church and give them a sermon about racial harmony. So Obama's Church problem has deepened because he was not upfront about Rev. Wright from the beginning. Obama expects us to believe, despite the fact that two of his close friends of 20 years have spewed and printed hate speech during that time, that he was completely unaware of their feelings. They never shared their feelings with Obama? He never read the Church's Newsletter? Nobody ever said, hey Barack buddy being that you are a politician, you had better watch out, this Reverend is not politically correct? Has hell frozen over yet? If we believe Obama, we have to believe that he was deaf, blind, dumb, and also completely naive to the nature of his good friend and mentor, who officiated at his wedding. Not exactly the qualities that we are seeking in a President. Obama should just admit he lied, after all, we are used to that from our Presidents.
