Don't Stone Bush

Legendary Director Oliver Stone begins filming of his new movie next week. The Oscar winning Director of such hits as "Platoon" and "Born on the Fourth of July", is making his next movie about President Bush. I think Oliver Stone is an incredible talent and have enjoyed his films over the years. That said, I hope that this movie, scheduled to be released in October, is just a movie. The timing of the release leads me to suspect that this film is meant to have an effect on the election and that would be wrong. In a statement, Stone described the film this way;
"Despite a meteoric, almost illogical rise to power, and a tremendous influence on the world, we don't really know much about Mr. Bush beyond the controlled images we've been allowed to see on TV,This movie's taking a bold stab at looking behind that curtain." That does not sound like a neutral stance on Bush's Presidency. I have said repeatedly that I am not a Bush hater however, I acknowledge that there is a comical aspect to our President when he speaks, and by his expressions; with all due respect. Further fueling speculation that this will be an anti-Bush film, is the fact that the film's distributor Lionsgate, is the distributor behind Director Michael Moore's crapumentary "Fahrenheit 9/11". This puts Hollywood in the same category with celebrity endorsers. Please make your movies that entertain and thrill us, but stay out of politics.
