If You Can't Take The Heat

Then get out of the race. I am seeing an emerging trend in Democratic Senator and Presidential Candidate Barack Obama's campaign. It would seem that the good Senator's feathers are easily ruffled. There is not much descent in the opinion that Senator Obama has been treated with "kid gloves" by the media. This was especially true from the beginning of his campaign, right on up until the Rev. Wright debacle. In the debate a few weeks ago, Obama and his supporters cried foul when he was grilled with some difficult questions. I do not like defending Senator Hillary Clinton, however even the long running television show "Saturday Night Live" pointed out the fact that the media tosses Clinton hardballs and Obama softballs. Then there was the exchange between Obama and Senator McCain a few days ago, that I looked at in "Obama Owes McCain an apology" . When McCain justly repeated a quote from a known enemy terrorist who endorsed the Obama campaign, Senator Obama shot back with an insult about McCain's age. I felt that Obama's thinly veiled attempt to hit McCain below the belt about his age was wrong. McCain just shrugged it off as opposed to Obama, who seems to handle any criticism poorly. I have applauded Senator Obama for saying that he wants to run a clean campaign, but he has to be able to take the heat without getting hot under the collar. Even if both Candidates run clean campaigns, there will be a lot of political heat from now until November.
