Poly-Tics As Usual Part III

I was thinking about just why Senator Hillary Clinton's margin of victory in Indiana Tuesday was so slim. If we watch the analysts and pundits they will drive us crazy with enough polling data to make your head spin. Like many, I had expected Senator Barack Obama's former Pastor and "bitter people" controversies to have dogged him in a State like Indiana. After due pondering, the answer seemed quite simple. Giving Obama credit it seems has become a trend for me lately, but he deserves it once more. I think Senator Obama's opposition to this ridiculous "Gas Tax Holiday" endorsed by both Clinton and McCain alike, has paid off for him big time. Particularly, Obama's exposing of the idea as a political gimmick, show a shift from traditional American politics. That shift being the truth of course, and if you are going to run as the candidate of change then you have to be honest. Politicians had better come to terms with the fact that American voters are much more politically savvy in the information age. If your going to propose something as ridiculous as a "gas tax holiday" that will save us only 25 bucks this summer and call that relief, we are smart enough to know that it's BS. Our Politicians are hard at work this very moment trying to find solutions. Solutions to their problem that is. How to invent better lies to fool the unwashed masses.
