In the article "Friends In Low Places", I took a look at recent approval ratings polls for both President Bush and the Democratic controlled Congress. I was shocked to learn that only 22 percent of those polled thought that Congress was doing a good job, a score that is lower than President Bush's. The Democrats and their supporters have attacked President Bush with a vigor unlike anything that I have seen during my lifetime. OK, so this is politics in America today. I do not think that it is good politics, or will necessarily benefit our Country, but it is what it is. I think the bitterness the Dems have has a lot to do with the manor in which they lost to Bush in 2000, and the subsequent failure to take the White House back in 2004. Obviously the Democrats felt that they could do a better job. The funny thing is that they have had their chance to prove just that; and they have failed miserably. The Democrats won back Congress in the last midterm elections. They now have a majority in the Senate, and 30 more seats in the House Of Representatives. So what has the Democratic Congress accomplished given this advantage; bubkiss. The Dems should stop the assault and take stock of their own position. After all a 22% approval rating is nothing to brag about.
